December Jewellery Kit

Here, for those of you who wanted to see it, is an example of the December Jewellery Kit.
The December kit is a little different to previous monthly kits. This kit, instead of focusing on one specific item of jewellery, instead features lots items that will be useful to Jewellery makers in the run up to Christmas.
There is always a last minute order for something you haven't got in stock or a shortage of headpins ... etc.
So here, we have put together a kit which includes lots of useful items to keep you busy well into the New Year!

The December kit includes -
Headpins
Eyepins
Jumprings
Chain
Bookmark
Toggle clasps
Necklace cords
Memory wire
Lariats
Large Christmas beads
Mixed resin, metal and enamel charms
A lovely selection of beads.

Before we get to the picture, here are just a couple of notes -
This kit costs £14, including p&p
The charms and some of the colours may vary from pack to pack, but this picture gives a good representation of what you will receive.

So, on to the picture -

Payment will be accepted by Paypal anytime before the 6th December. All kits will be posted once payment is made.

October Jewellery Kit

These kits cost £11, including p&p and includes enough to make at least 10 bag charms.
The charms and some of the colours may vary from pack to pack but this picture will give a reasonable idea of what you will receive.
Packs will also include a metre of chain, not pictured.
You will receive 2 mixed bead packs, colours combinations will vary from kit to kit but these will give you a nice assortment of shapes and sizes in coordinating colours.

September Jewellery Kit

The headpins and eyepins you receive will be silver coloured, rather than the darker nickel colour shown.
Packs will also include a string of clear 6mm glass beads, not pictured.

Bag Charms, Cards and an Apology

I started 2011 intending to create a blog post at least twice a week ... Obviously, that didn't quite come to fruition so for that I must apologise!

Since I was last here, my crafting has taken a bit of a back seat and has been replaced by the running of my, currently small, but steadily growing craft supply business. More on that soon though!!

For now, I thought I would share with you the few items I have made this year. Better late than never, right?!

So here goes -

Mother's Day card. I really enjoyed making this, it was only the 3rd card I made this year so it was lovely to get my papercraft goodies out again and I'm really pleased with the result.

Next up is a Birthday card I made using my Flippin' Men Stamps. I bought most of these sets recently and this is the first time I've actually used them. The recipient supports Shrewsbury so I coloured accordingly.

Now, a couple of bag charms I made -

Not a lot to say about these, I was just enjoying 'playing' with my beads again.

Bracelets

I thought I would share a couple of bracelets I made this week with you tonight. Both fairly simple but very enjoyable to make.

Lately I have a tendency to use the same one or two charms on a bracelet so I really like that this one incorporates 5 different charms.

I received some of these lovely charms from a friend for Christmas. Again, I love that they have enabled me to use different charms on this bracelet.

Happy New Year everybody!! I hope 2011 is a good one for you all!
Have you all stuck to your new years resolutions so far? Not really a new years resolution bit I'm aiming to do lots more blogging this year so look out for lots more posts :)
I'll start off this year sharing a couple of custom orders I made before Christmas.
Some of you may remember that last year I made a Manchester United charm bracelet, a friend saw it and asked me to make one for a Liverpool supporter -

I thought it was about time I shared the last of the Christmas cards I made using up my old stash last week.

I love these tree die cuts. A little bit different being purple but still pretty and festive -

These reindeer die cuts are just so cute and I love them even more now I've added the gems -

Finally, how cute is this snowman?! -

Its amazing how the simple addition of a few gems can really make these little die cuts into something really special.

Messy Candle and Wine Charms

Tonight I have a couple of things to share.

First up, I made these Wine Glass Charms this evening, they're ever so simple to make but I think they look lovely and they're practical too -

I also decorated a candle using a gorgeous Messy Rabbit stamp -

This is the first candle I've decorated using a stamped image, I'm really pleased with it. I just adore this image, its so lovely to colour.

More Christmas Cards

I thought I would share a few more of the Christmas cards I made this week with you tonight. I used up a lot of the die cuts and bits n bobs I've had lying around for a year making these so I'm really pleased. I think they're really cute cards too. Not my usual style, a bit of a trip back in time really but I had such a lovely time making them and it was so rewarding getting so many done in such a short time.

Button Tree

Over on the Top Tip Tuesday blog this week, the challenge is to use Buttons. Right up my street, I love to use buttons on my creations so I popped this together yesterday evening.
Hope you like it. Its very simple to make, and cheap too, but I think it looks very effective.

(Still can't get my camera to keep up with the date, it just doesn't seem to change anymore so have to set it every time I use it but keep forgetting, must remove the date stamp!)

Shake, Shake, Shake

I've had a lovely couple of days. We've been very cold here so I've been allowed to bring some of my crafting downstairs, which means I get to craft away to my hearts content sat on a nice cosy sofa and enjoy my fiance's company.
I haven't made many cards recently, just the odd one here and there for challenges but I've made 12 in the last two days so I'm very happy.
Last year I bought a copy of Crafts Beautiful with a Christmas die cut pack freebie. I never really got round to using them, preferring to use stamped images on my cards. Infact, its been a long time since I really made much without using my stamps, I just love them so much; but I dug out the freebie die cuts yesterday and thought I would try to use them and a few packets of Christmas embellishments I have lying around (mostly unopened).
I'd forgotten how nice some of the more simple cards can be and how enjoyable they are to make. It's been a strangely freeing exercise and I really have enjoyed myself and it feels so good knowing I'm using up some of my stash. Now I won't feel so guilty next time I hit the craft shops!!
Anyway, I won't bore you with all 12 cards tonight, I'll just share my first ever batch of Shaker cards.

I'm really pleased with these and so happy that I've used up some bits I had been hoarding for a while.

Good News and a Freebie

Tilda Christmas

Well, its 1.43am and I've finally found time to share my latest card with you. I made it last night to enter into a couple of challenges. I hadn't really intended to make many cards for challenges for a while and instead concentrate on making Christmas presents but I was able to tie the challenges in to a Christmas card and I still need to make a few of those anyway.
So, on to the card -

This weeks theme on Passion for Promarkers is "Colours of Old Photographs" and over on Top Tip Tuesday the challenge is to use an image so I set to work colouring this gorgeous Magnolia Tilda image in shades of brown.

I cut around the image to form a tag and added a lovely snowflake eyelet to tie in with the lovely snowflake paper I used. I coloured the tag using a drop of strong coffee.

I created this flower using a couple of flowers I was sent. I used my embossing tool to add a bit of extra shape, coloured them with chalk and finished with a snowflake brad.

I finished the card by adding a strip of ribbon, tying a bow in the middle and hanging a bauble die cut from it and adding a peel off sentiment.

Christmas FIMO Bracelet

I haven't been able to get online for about a week after our laptop died, so I spent some time playing with my FIMO. I hadn't used it for about a year so it took a bit of work to soften it but it paid off and I made these -

Just a bit of Pre-Christmas fun really but I enjoyed making them and I'm pleased with how they turned out. I'm not sure yet whether the little Snowmen will be used as phone/ bag charms or to hang on the tree, but either way I think they're cute and I'll enjoy them.

Notebook

For a while now I've been meaning to start making some Christmas presents. I'm intending to make some little hampers of handmade/ decorated goodies.
For most of the notebooks I want to make, I'll probably not cover the entire front cover, but instead leave a border and match the colours but I fancied a little play last night and there were a couple of challenges I wanted to try, over on Passion for Promarkers the theme this week is Best Friends and over on A Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is to use punches, so I put this together -

When the elastic is used to hold the cover, it forms a platform for the characters to stand/ sit on.

Crafty Shopping

I thought I would share some great crafty bargains with you.
My fiancé and I recently popped into Home Bargains, where I found these -

These sticker sheets were just 29p each and they'll make fantastic feature embellishments on cards and add lovely detail to scrapbook pages. There were other sheets available too but these were the ones I thought I would use. Needless to say, I bought a few of each.
I also found these fabulous fabric Roses; 40 for for just 59p -

Again, these will make fabulous embellishments for cards and scrapbook pages.
For my jewellery making I found these pretty beads; 5 in each pack for just 59p -

Although I bought these with my jewellery in mind, I'm sure I'll also find uses for them on cards and scrapbook layouts.
Finally, I just couldn't resist these lovely Halloween stickers -

These were only 29p and they're so cute. I'm hoping to make a few little Halloween goody bags to give to the local kiddies when they come Trick or Treating if I have time, so these will be perfect and a great time saver.

One Piece Box Tutorial

Hi all,
I sold two bracelets over the weekend and promised the lady who bought them that I would make her a couple of quick gift boxes as she'll be giving them as Christmas presents. I love these boxes, they're so useful and really easy to make with no separate top to make.
I thought I would take the opportunity to make a quick tutorial as I went along to share with you.

As you can see, I made my box 7cm square and 1.5cm deep. Its very easy to alter the measurements though.
Firstly, you need to cut your card to measure, then score at the relevant points, marked on the above picture with a dotted line.
You should then have something looking like this -

The next step is to cut out the corners to make your flaps. Don't forget, on the centre cuts, you also cut up the side of the remaining flap but leave the bit attached to the central card, like this -

Then it is simply a matter of folding your box and glueing the flaps in place. A strong glue or double sided tape should hold them in place. On this box I have used some eyelets, not something I would usually do but the box needs to hold together in the post and then as a gift from someone else so I wanted to be extra sure it would hold. As you can see, I also made a smaller box (5cm x 5cm x 1cm), which I have glued.
The top and bottom of the box are, of course, cut the same size but you shouldn't have a problem with the top fitting over the bottom.

It looks a bit rough here but I'll fill the inside with some iridescent shredded plastic and the imperfections will be hidden from view.
Then its just a matter of decorating your box to taste. Here are my boxes decorated -

Halloween Wall Hanging

Before I get to my latest creation I'd just like to say well done to Everton FC on their fantastic win in the 214th Merseyside Derby yesterday. Well done boys!!

Right, now thats out of my system, on to my "masterpiece".

Over on the Passion for Promarkers blog, this weeks theme is "Orange, Black, Green and Purple" so I coupled this with the sketch over on the Friday Sketchers blog and created this -

As soon as I saw the colour scheme, I couldn't wait to dig out this gorgeous Tilda image. I just love halloween, I can't wait to hang this up on the day.

(I did have more silver ribbon through the eyelet in the tag but I forgot to pop it through before I took the photo. Oopsie).

Forever Friends

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, have been busy since moving.
My fiance's grandma celebrates her birthday at the end of the month so I finally made time to get my crafting head on and this is what I made -

I wanted the card to be cute but classy. I used paper from a Forever Friends paperstack and coupled it with a sheet of beautiful handmade paper. I love this Forever Friends stamp, its such a good size and very 'open' so its lovely to colour.
Hope she likes it.

Christmas Crafting

Well, after a busy few weeks with my cousins wedding and a house move, I'm finally ready to get crafting again and just in time to crack on with some christmas crafting. I've eased myself in gently with a couple of simple christmas cards.

I fell in love with this Rachelle Anne Miller stamp as soon as I saw it and with this lovely paper, I think it works perfectly to create a really warm card. I tried to pick up the lights wrapped in the reindeers antlers with the beaded wire.

I've been intending to make a card using this design for a while but I always struggle finding papers that go together well enough. Even with a christmas paper stack I still found I was struggling to I've instead used some sparkly silver card and tied the front of the card in using some snowflakes punched from the same paper as the backing.

Wedding Card

My little cousin and his lovely fiancee tie the knot in a little over a month. I can't believe we're all so grown up now - three parents, three graduates and nearly one married, where does the time go? Seems like only yesterday the floors were shark infested waters and the bunkbeds our ship.
Anyway, we received our invite a while ago and the colours matched perfectly with some fabric I was given so I dug out this cute image and fashioned a flower from the fabric and this card was born . . .

On the Buses

A quick post tonight with the card I made for my fiance's dad. As you probably guessed, he loves Buses. I was really struggling to design a card for him until I stumbled across the fabulous Bus charm; I knew I needed to incorporate it and being for a man it would need to be masculine so the keyring was born. I coloured the bus image with my trusty promarkers and backed on some nice handmade papers. Actually a very simple make given how difficult making a bus themed card had first appeared.

Even More Charming

Since I picked up my jewellery making box again two weeks ago, I've found myself unable to put it back down. Even my usual hunt on Ebay for Rubber Stamps has been replaced with a hunt for Beads and Findings. I've really got my passion for jewellery making back and I'm so happy.

I love how this bracelet came out -

I found this amazing new charm chain, its so strong and chunky so I just had to create a feally heavy, chunky bracelet. Almost all of the beads are unique and I've finished off with two lovely spider charms and a lovely silver and black heart charm.

Again, using my new chain I created this -

Really loving how chunky this bracelet is and the colours used on it, its so hot and summery, I wish I could keep this one for myself!

Once again, I have rather been MIA lately. I haven't forgotten my blog, I've just been busy setting up my new Facebook page and store.
Anyway, I thought I should take the time to share with you a couple of the charm bracelets I've made this week. Would love to hear what you think of them.
First up is this lovely Sea inspired lightweight bracelet -

I've used lots of lovely acrylic and plastic beads (as well as a few glass because I just can't resist a nice glass bead) and tibetan silver plated plastic charms to create this bracelet, it keeps the weight right down making it ideal for hot summer days but sill gives a gorgeous sparkle when it catches the light.
Next is another lightweight bracelet -

Again with this bracelet I've used lots of lovely Acrylic and plastic beads to keep the weight down. There's a charm/ bead on every other link, most of them faceted so it really catches the light beautifully and the colours coordinate with almost any outfit too. The lovely butterfly charms on this are also tibetan silver plated plastic - very pretty but weigh practically nothing so ideal for these bracelets.
And finally I made this lovely Purple bracelet -

I've used lots of lovely glass beads on this bracelet, along with a couple of acrylics (I just love those stripey ones) and some silver plated Star Charms. Again, I've put a charm/ bead on every other link so theres a lovely weight to this one and lots of interest.

Book worm

This weeks challenge theme over on the Passion for Promarkers blog is "books" so I dug out this gorgeous Tilda image a friend sent me and set to work creating this . . .

The card blank started life as a tri-fold A5 card. I needed a 6x6 card for another project so I cut it down to size and chopped off one of the panels, which I then used to create this card. I used the 'waste' from the card blank to create an easel style base . . .

"Anything Goes" challenge card

I really need to get back into blogging and this week I noticed that over on the Passion for Promarkers blog there is an "Anything Goes" challenge so now was a perfect time to get back on here.
The card I made was actually done with a layout from another challenge I stumbled across in mind too but I forgot to bookmark and sadly now can't find it again.
Hope you like the card, which doubles as a wallet too just waiting to be filled with crafty godies to send to a friend.
Since taking the picture I have covered the brad in the centre of the flower with a lovely silver cap thingy too which fills the flower out better.

Challenge Card

I haven't really done much crafting for the last two weeks, I've spent more time sorting out my crafty stash.
So, thinking it was time to get crafting again, I found a couple of challenges that looked interesting and made a card to fit them both.
Over on Passion for Promarkers the challenge is to create a card following a sketch AND use handmade flowers.
The other challenge I found was an old one to make a Monochromatic card. I thought it would be a great challenge to combine the two.
I made the card from a sheet of A4 card and folded it to create a wallet card so I can fill it with crafty goodies for a friend!
I hope you like the finished result.
